is a dedicated occupational therapist with a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating in 2019. With five years of experience at a Level 1 trauma center, she has experience in both acute care and inpatient rehabilitation. Her passion for supporting the traumatic brain injury (TBI) community across the continuum of care pushed her to pursue a career at Innovative OT Solutions, where she collaborates closely with brain injury survivors and their families to promote independence and improve quality of life. Outside of her professional endeavors, Justyn enjoys spending time with her dog, Remi, as well as hiking and traveling.

Specializes in outpatient pediatric care but has also gained valuable experience in both acute and subacute care settings. Kaley’s commitment to working with individuals with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) began at the age of two, when her father suffered a penetrating TBI, sparking her interest in the field. This has driven her to make a meaningful impact with other TBI survivors and their caregivers through Innovative OT Solutions, promoting functional independence, self-advocacy, and overall quality of life. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new coffee shops, traveling, and adventuring outdoors with her dog.
is an experienced occupational therapist who graduated with a Master of Occupational Therapy from the University at Buffalo in 2016. She has worked in both traditional and travel OT in settings including subacute care, inpatient rehabilitation, assisted/independent living, and acute care. She has spent the last five years working at a Level 1 trauma center where she grew to love working with the traumatic brain injury (TBI) population. This passion led her to Innovative OT Solutions where she greatly enjoys working with TBI survivors and their caregivers in a community based setting. She is passionate about using her creativity and knowledge to find patient centered approaches to facilitate greater independence and improved quality of life. In her free time, Maggie enjoys spending time with friends and family, working out, listening to music, being outdoors, and traveling.

is a highly skilled Occupational Therapist with over 7 years of experience in Adult Neurological Rehabilitation, specializing in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Stroke and other neurological conditions. Julia's expertise focuses on helping individuals regain independence and re-engage in meaningful activities through personalized, client-centered therapy. Her work primarily involves home and community-based intervention, with a focus on empowering clients to live their lives to the fullest. When she isn't working Julia enjoy's reading, hiking with her dog, cooking and DYI house projects.
has 28 years of OT experience in a variety of settings; school based, early intervention, home health, rehab and community. She has worked with a wide variety of diagnosis; autism, CP, TBI and other genetic and neurological disorders. She enjoys using her creativity to help others rebuild and redefine their roles in their homes and communities. In her spare time Michelle enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking/baking, DYI projects and being outside.

is an experienced occupational therapist with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University. Shannon has over 27 years of experience, working across many settings including inpatient rehab, outpatient rehab and home health and has worked with a wide variety of populations. However her passion is working with individuals with TBI in order to promote independence, improved access to the community and improved quality of life. She is also a certified lymphedema therapist. In her free time, Shannon enjoys spending time with her family and 2 dogs, hiking, reading, traveling and is an avid Carolina Hurricanes fan.

is a Licensed Recreational Therapist, Certified Brain Injury Specialist, certified in Love Your Brain adapted yoga, and the owner of Recreate Yourself, LLC. With over 15 years of experience, she empowers individuals with disabilities in various settings. A graduate of UNC Wilmington with a degree in Recreational Therapy and a minor in Psychology, Laura is passionate about supporting individuals with brain injuries, veterans, those facing mental health challenges, and caregivers. Outside of work, Laura is a mother of two and a dog mom to a Shiba Inu mix. She enjoys baking, creative arts, and cheering for the New York Giants and Carolina Hurricanes. Laura’s mission is to provide compassionate, client-centered care that fosters resilience and well-being.
Laura Holmes, LRT, CTRS, CBIS
a dedicated pediatric Occupational Therapist passionate about helping children develop independence and sensory regulation skills. She takes a creative, client-centered approach, tailoring therapy to each child’s unique needs. Sarah holds a Bachelor's in Recreation Therapy with a minor in Studio Art from UNCW, an OTA degree from Cape Fear Community College, and a Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Cabarrus College of Health Sciences. She enjoys incorporating art-based activities into therapy to enhance engagement and progress. Outside of work, Sarah loves exploring new crafts, spending time with her husband and their dog, Junie, and visiting the beach or local eateries.
Sarah Nelson, OTR/L
earned her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Baylor University in December 2024. She has a background in neuroscience and research, having earned her B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh in 2018 and spending the following four years at Vanderbilt University researching "hidden" hearing loss in an auditory neuroscience laboratory. During her time at Vanderbilt, she discovered her passion for occupational therapy while shadowing a therapist at Rehab Without Walls, an outpatient neurorehabilitation clinic specializing in TBI and acute neurological conditions. Since then, she has gained experience working with children with developmental and physical disabilities in outpatient clinical settings and completed her doctoral project at Innovative OT Solutions, which focused on improving client and caregiver quality of life through evaluating the caregiver education and support we provide. Katy is passionate about helping individuals reach their full potential and engage in activities that are meaningful to them. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her dog, Bean, exploring new cities, and spending time with friends and family.

is an experienced occupational therapist who earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from MUSC in 2019. She has worked in inpatient rehabilitation in Asheville, NC, for the past five years, specializing in spinal cord injury and wound care. She also has a background working with children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities and even traveled to Vietnam for research focused on children with Cerebral Palsy. Her diverse clinical experience has allowed her to work with individuals across the lifespan with a wide range of diagnoses, always prioritizing independence, participation, and quality of life. Passionate about empowering individuals with disabilities to engage in meaningful activities, Ashley approaches therapy with creativity, compassion, and a touch of humor. In her free time, she enjoys fly fishing, hiking, and exploring new places with friends.
